Dr. Shmeka Gibson is an author, international speaker, business owner, and college professor. Dr. Shmeka Gibson is a native Memphian and a mother of 2 daughters. Dr. Gibson is a Parellel-Preneur and resides in Austin, TX. During the day, she works as an I/O Psychologist helping businesses create a strong organizational infrastructure, program model and diversify funding. In the afternoon and weekends, she works alongside her daughter Jaylah Whittaker overseeing their non-profit, Changing the Mindset Inc. CTMS offers youth and working professionals mental health coaching and therapy to address personal and workplace bullying. She also provides individual, group, and professional trauma and workplace stress sessions.Dr. Gibson is also known for her work with Dress for Success Memphis, assisting over 60 businesses with organizational infrastructure development, programming, and scaling their business. Dr. Gibson’s philanthropic work and grant writing skills have allowed her to assist more than 25 organizations in securing over $ 84 million in funding. Dr. Gibson is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority INC., Delta Sigma Pi Business Fraternity, Rotary International, Round Rock Women’s Network, Lion’s Club, and a host of many other boards, networks, and associations. She has received the following awards for her involvement in the community: Most Influential Woman (VIP Global 2021), SEA Small Business of the Year (TN 2022), 150 Distinguished Alumni at CBU (TN 2022), Diploma from Poland Government for Poland Foreign Exchange Work (Rotary-Poland 2022), SEA Community Service Leader of the Year (TN 2023), Huami Community Service Leader of the Year (NC 2023) Austin Business Journal 2023 Women in Business Nominee (TX 2023) and Ordinary People Magazine Servant Award (GA/TN 2023).
